Croatia Trip - Tuesday: Day trip to Trogir

Woke up, showered, walked to bus station, buying meat pastry for breakfast on the bus in the way to  Trogir. Just in time for the 10.45am bus direct to Trogir. Passed by Salona on the way, with an intact Roman aqueduct, and Roman stone ruins at the base of the striated mountain, which apparently was a bustling Roman city back in the day of Augustus, and is the birthplace of Diocletian.

Trogir is cute, filled with winding five foot wide medieval streets paved with rectangular blocks of smooth white travertine. Very small island, and it took no time at all to find the sea facing side with a tree to spend time at cooling off in the shade while reading a book.

Had a leisurely lunch at a place that actually serves fish plate for one! With a glass of Croatian white wine called Grasevina Kutjevo. It wasn't crowded, although I'm wondering why despite the fact that the fish plate, served with boiled greens and potatoes was very good. One of the grilled squids was stuffed with risotto.

Best part of Trogir is climbing the campanile bell tower.

Took local 37 bus on the way back. Disappointed at the local stops and the sun screen in place so you can't really see out. Plus, not as comfortable. So much for that nap. Managed to nap anyway, only to wake up disoriented when I wasn't dropped off at the usual bus station.

Went to Bacvice Beach. Very shallow, warm but the water is unbelievably clear even walking along the shoreline. And there are fish!
